Thank you, down under!
We're all finally back in one piece from our whirlwind of 3 shows in Auckland, Brisbane and Melbourne. Our first show in New Zealand in over 10 years! That's too large a gap, we've figured out.

It was fun to bring out a few songs we don't play that often, seeing as we'd not been around since Much Afraid. We're going to have to remedy that for the future.

It was great to hear from many that drove/flew from all over to see the shows. I think as the opportunities present themselves, we'll continue to reach out there. We love the people, the culture, the food and drink.

One of my favorite things this time around was touring the war memorial in Auckland. I got lots of the Maori history, and learned one of the best things ever. The hongi - or sharing of breath. I'm going to have a difficult time getting that to take off here in the states, but I like the idea of it. Maybe I'll just keep it in reserve for close friends. Hah.

Lastly, thanks to all the fans that showed up. You make it possible. When promoters know you'll be there, they get us there...sounds simple enough, yea? It was an honor to play, and we're already anticipating the next trip. I should say, a few of us finished the trip with a few extra days in Melbourne that included some shopping, a Wilco show, and hang time. With full hearts we return home, getting ready this month to record our first full-length independent album! More on that shortly. Peace!

“To become a spectator of one's own life is to escape the suffering of life.” (Oscar Wilde) I cherish the truth that lies behind that remark. We cant afford to be spectators in life!
