From Los Angeles, CA to Washington D.C: Proceeds To Build Wells In Africa
Through Jars of Clay's Blood:Water Mission.
Donald Miller has joined with Blood:Water Mission and Venture Expeditions in
their plans to build 1000 Wells in Africa. This summer, Don will join riders
on the Ride:Well Tour, cycling from Los Angeles, CA to Washington D.C. to
generate funds and raise awareness for Blood:Water Missions 1000 Wells
Project.
The riders will begin their trip on June 4th traveling a southern route
across the United States, finishing in Washington D.C. on the 28th of July.
They will be speaking at churches and schools along the way, as well as
participating in city rides in Dallas, Nashville, and Washington D.C.
The Ride:Well Tour is a joint effort between Nashville based Blood:Water
Mission and Minneapolis based non-profit Venture Expeditions. The tour
exists to promote awareness of social justice in North America while

Water mission
Not a bike rider but that sounds pretty awesome. What a challenge!
We have some land we got in S. Kenya, about 9 miles north of the Tanzanian border to the west of Amoboselli Park. You can see Kilimanjaro from the land, it's awesome. But we need to get a well drilled. We have $5,000 towards it but the only bid we've been able to get so far was ludicrous. Any chance we could discuss a joint venture? We are going to build a Bible college there among other things. We have a traveling bible college there now called the TEE program. You can read about it on our website. www.cmointernational.org.
Just curious if it's something you would be interested in. We will offer free water to anyone in the area that wants to come get it. We take medical supplies in and do mission trips. Reaching the lost for Jesus. That's the bottom line.
Be blessed and keep the music flowing!

kenya, today!

I am very blessed and honored to be granted the opportunity to participate in the B:WM/Ride:Well Tour cross country ride and share the African story with the rest of the riders and society at large. I am deeply convinced that riding for some 3000 miles is not fun, but the mission of riding makes it worth the sacrifice. I live in Nairobi, Kenya and this country is very different from what it was some few months ago. Not every action brings us joy as expected, what looks good from far may just turn to be far from good. The general elections of December 2007 did not bring joy to many a community - as of now, the marginalized became more marginalized, some well to do persons found themselves hanging on a very thin rope that connects them to life. Things have been tough, children being born in wet/rainy IDP camps, thousands of persons living with HIV cannot get that important drug to lengthen their life for another day, children learn in the open grounds under scorching sun or rather call of classes when it starts raining! In the midst of all things, one more person gets infected with HIV, another is raped and left for dead, the very essence of human kind has just lost value. Today, 9 persons died in an IDP in Kisii, we are yet to establish – why, and even if we know why, that wont bring back life (investigations, prosecutions, incacerations doesnt bring back life)! The sanctity of human life …has lost value, and you and me have a duty, to reaffirm to those people who have suffered innocently – that all is not lost and there can be hope and fulfillment in the life beyond.

“To become a spectator of one's own life is to escape the suffering of life.” (Oscar Wilde) I cherish the truth that lies behind that remark. We cant afford to be spectators in life!
